Neu Neuware - Das erste Künstlerbuch der dOCUMENTA (13) begleitet die erste Stufe eines Projekts von Guillermo Faivovich (\*1977 in Buenos Aires) und Nicolás Goldberg (\*1978 in Paris). Seit 2006 erforschen die Künstler Campo del Cielo, den Einschlagort eines Meteoritenschauers, der sich vor 4000… Jahren in Nordargentinien ereignete. El Taco, einer dieser Meteoriten, wurde mit großem Aufwand im Max-Planck-Institut in Mainz in zwei Hälften geteilt, die sich seitdem getrennt voneinander in der Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D. C. und dem Planetarium von Buenos Aires befinden. Im Portikus vereinen die Künstler erstmals wieder beide Hälften, ein Schritt auf ihrer Reise zur dOCUMENTA (13), wo 2012 eine weitere Stufe des Projekts A Guide to Campo del Cielo folgen wird. Die Publikation dokumentiert die lange Geschichte des Meteoriten, wobei die Künstler bibliografischen Nachforschungen, Archivrecherchen und mündliche Überlieferungen mit einbeziehen sowie zahlreiche Menschen, die sich sowohl mit der regionalen Geschichte als auch weltweiter Feldforschung beschäftigt haben.
