A rare and bibliographically significant set comprising two distinct editions of Jorge Luis Borges s prologue written in tribute to Xul Solar. The first item is the original catalog for the Xul Solar retrospective at the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA) in October 1963, containing the first appearance of the text. The second item is the scarce 1968 edition printed by the Ministry of Education in La Plata in an oblong octavo format. This set is of particular importance to scholars and collectors as it documents Borges's habit of revising his work; the 1968 oblong edition features a text that is significantly different from the 1963 original. Borges introduced new phrases and expanded the prose, making the second version longer and conceptually distinct. These two items together offer the complete evolutionary arc of this specific text (distinct from his 1949 prologue). Borges wrote 3 prologues to the Xul Solar catalog in 1949, 1963 and 1968.
