Sarah Wynn-Williams (born 1979 or 1980) is a New Zealand lawyer, public policy expert, and author. She was formerly the Director of Public Policy at Facebook. Her book Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism was released in 2025 over Facebook's objections. Wynn-Williams practiced law at the Mallesons, Stephen, Jacques law firm. From 20022007, she was a policy adviser in the New Zealand government. From 20072011, she managed New Zealand's political affairs and government relations office at its embassy in Washington, D.C. She has also worked for Oxfam International. Wynn-Williams began working for Facebook in 2011, eventually becoming its global public policy director. Facebook terminated Williams's employment in 2017, because of alleged "poor performance and toxic behavior". Williams has stated she believes this was in retaliation for reporting her boss Joel Kaplan for sexual harassment. Meta describes the book as "a mix of out-of-date and previously reported claims about the company and false accusations about [its] executives". Mark Zuckerberg responded legally through private arbitration. The American Arbitration Association's emergency arbitrator, Nicholas Gowen, required Wynn-Williams to not make "orally, in writing, or otherwise any disparaging, critical or otherwise detrimental comments to any person or entity concerning [Meta], its officers, directors, or employees". Macmillan, the UK publisher, issued a statement saying that it would ignore the ruling. Gowen did not order any action by the publisher. Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism is a memoir by Sarah Wynn-Williams. Wynn-Williams, a former director of public policy at Facebook (renamed Meta), is a critical account of Facebook's internal culture and decision-making practices during her time there. The book is highly critical of Facebook's responses to global sociopolitical events, including its role in the Rohingya genocide and CEO Mark Zuckerberg's alleged efforts to censor on behalf of the Chinese government. Additionally, Wynn-Williams accuses several Facebook executives, including Sheryl Sandberg and Joel Kaplan, of engaging in harmful behavior in the workplace, including sexual harassment. The book gained media coverage following reports that Meta sued to prevent Wynn-Williams from promoting the book; public backlash against Meta's response have been credited with boosting sales of the book. By late March 2025, Careless People had reached number one on the New York Times best-seller list. Following the book's publication, Wynn-Williams was invited to testify before the U.S. Senate, where she accused Zuckerberg of having been willing to censor content in order to gain access to the Chinese market. The title of the book is based on a quote from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby. Prior to publication, Wynn-Williams lodged a 78-page complaint with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where she accused the company of misleading investors. Wynn-Williams also briefed The Washington Post, recorded an interview with journalist Emily Maitlis, and appeared on a podcast with Steve Bannon. In Careless People, Wynn-Williams provides an account of her time at the company, discussing its approach to corporate ethics, public policy, and business strategy. The book and the SEC filing document attempts by Mark Zuckerberg to gain dominance in China. Wynn-Williams alleged that Facebook developed a system of censorship to appease the Chinese government as it sought to enter the Chinese market, which would have subjected users in Hong Kong to censorship. A Facebook privacy staffer in 2014 proposed that "In exchange for the ability to establish operations in China, FB will agree to grant the Chinese government access to Chinese users' data including Hongkongese users' data". Although Facebook developed these technologies, it eventually decided not to implement them. Wyn.

Friends of Photography was a nonprofit organization started by Ansel Adams and others in 1967 to promote photography as a fine art. During its existence the organization held at least 330 photography exhibitions at its galleries in Carmel and San Francisco, California, and it published a lengthy series of monographs under the name Untitled. Untitled was published Friends of Photography from 1972 to 1994. A total of 58 numbered publications were issued, first as a small magazine format and later as a series of booklets and full-size books. Numbers 1-10 displayed the series name and issue number on the cover, but as the publications became more specialized each number was titled independently in addition to the series name. The smallest publication in the series was Number 1, with 10 pages, and the largest was Number 43, with 156 pages. Many of the publications were catalogs of exhibitions held at the Friends of Photography gallery in Carmel, California. The publication featured many famous photographers, including Ansel Adams, Ruth Bernhard, Harry Callahan, Roy DeCarava, Lee Friedlander, Mary Ellen Mark, Aaron Siskind, Paul Strand, Brett Weston, and Edward Weston. It also offered perspectives on newer photographic trends like plastic cameras and the influence of pop-art.The series of Untitled monographs includes: 1: Edward Weston, Dody W.
