El relato de las injusticias, las desigualdades, el enclaustramiento físico y mental es el hilo violeta que une los relatos de esta antología. Muchas de sus autoras no se consideraban feministas, pocas entre ellas fueron militantes activas en alguno de los movimientos que englobamos bajo la primera ola del feminismo, pero está claro que todas contribuyeron a que podamos entender por qué el feminismo se convirtió en un movimiento tan sólido a través de tantos años.
