He was a military expert, having fought in WW1 and the Spanish Civil War and inspired the Home Guard in WW2, always arguing for a democratic people's army. He was also a poet, but this is the first collection of his poems and is drawn from the newly opened Wintringham archive.

There is blotchy foxing to the front cover, slight loss at the head of the spine and some rusting to the staples but otherwise it remains in strong readable condition.
