Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. This set is significant not only for its content but also for its form. It is the most comprehensive expose of Luther Burbank's works; it is also among the first publications to make use of color photography. Ours is a sound and attractive copy of the twelve-volume set in red cloth, with a few relatively minor faults. All mounted color plates are present and very good, though several have crease-marks at their lower fore-corner. The front inner hinge of volume I is cracked; the final dozen leaves of volume IV are dampstained at their upper hinge corner; there is mild foxing to the foot of the final leaves of volume IV; there are splash marks to the front panel of volume VIII; the textblock of volume IX is dampstained at its upper fore-corner, though the boards are not affected; there is a small paint spot and faint splash marks at the front panel of volume IX, as well as minor dampstaining to the foot of several leaves; the spines of all volumes are mildly sunned. On the whole, a very satisfactory set. Additional postage will be required for shipment outside the United States.
