Dated from the British Library. Each volume is illustrated with four tipped in colour plates, four black-and-white photographic plates, and many in-text line drawings. Written by Wilfred Willet, a soldier and medic in the First World War who became an ornithologist after experiencing a wound to the head in action. Illustrated by Roland Green, an English bird artist, who produced numerous bird studies in watercolours and oils. This set includes: No. 2 The Titmice No. 4 Hedgerow Birds No. 5 Water Birds No. 6 Shore Birds No. 7 Homestead Birds No. 10 Flycatchers In the original paper wraps. Externally, smart with light shelf wear, minor sunning, and the odd small closed tear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting. Very Good. book.
