Original uniform printed wrappers. = An important work, as it includes the descriptions of new species. Complete copies, such as this one, are uncommon. Written by the pharmacist and foremost Belgian botanist of the late 19th and early to mid-20th century, Émile Auguste Joseph de Wildeman (1866-1947) assisted by the director of the Jardin Botanique de l'Etat (or Jardin Botanique Belgique) in Bruxelles, Théophile Alexis Durand (1855-1912). Uncut. Provenance: old stamp of the Rijksmuseum of Natuurlijke Historie in Leiden on the front wrappers. Wrappers split at spine, chipped at edges. Internally a very good, clean set. Strangely, this work is not recorded by Stafleu and Cowan.
