Wheelock was part of the Michigan Relief Association and brought supplies to and wrote letters for soldiers in hospitals/field hospitals. The Michigan troops that she encountered were from the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th cavalry, the 1st -- 8th and 16th, 20th. 24th and 26th Infantry. She writes well, very descriptive accounts of her duties, her observations, the war, conditions of the soldiers, her arrival in Washington the day before Lincoln was assassinated. Well worth reading. FIRST EDITION.
