Neither publisher nor place of publication is evident, but 1856 as a publication date, A collection of slavery-related speeches, disbound from a larger volume, hand-sewn with fine thread, first and final page present but detached, loss to final page's margins but without loss to text or readability. Senator Weller's speech, 18 pp., General Lane's speech, also from Phoenix Hall, 19-22 pp., Senator Cobb's speech, 23-32 pp. Speakers John B. Weller (Senator from California), John Lawrence Orr (Representative from South Carolina), Joseph Lane (Territorial Delegate from Oregon), and Howell Cobb (Governor of Georgia) emphasize the inclusive character of the national Democratic Party and criticize its rivals, they taking issue with then Democrat Party pro-slavery ideals. From the Wikipedia entry devoted to Senator Weller, "As governor, Weller facilitated the genocide of the Yuki tribe by granting a State Commission to Walter S. Jarboe to exterminate them. Jarboe was commissioned by Weller after the United States Army refused to campaign against the Yuki. Jarboe's band, 'The Eel River Rangers,' massacred at least 283 men, presenting the State with a bill for $11,143 for the killings. According to Benjamin Madley, Weller 'officially sanctioned Genocide'.
