This is an authentic "Hong Wei Bing," or "Red Guard" armband, the inscription reads: "From various provinces." . *** These have yellow-ink silk screened characters on red cotton, cloth, some with a round stamp on the inside or back side, with place, date and institution that issued them to youthful Hong Wei Bing" members. . *** These were issued in several places, each school or place issued them with a very similar style of Chinese characters stating "HONG WEI BING." Some also had slogans about loyalty to Chairman Mao. . *** Not all are exactly the same there was some variance. This a genuine 1967 embossed stamped example, authorized by Guilin city "Da Zhong Xue Xiao Hong Wei Bing." [Guilin University & middle school Little Red Guards." . The first page has red-ink printed: "HONG WEI BING ZHENG." ["RED GUARD CERTIFICATE"]. . Followed by page 2 which states: "Máo zhuxí yulù makèsi zhuyì de dàoli qian tóu wàn xù, guigen dàodi, jiùshì yijù huà--zàofan youli! . Translated as: "Chairman Mao's quotes. There are many truths in Marxism, but in the final analysis, there is only one sentence -rebellion is justified !" .
