He is a noted Catholic scholar, an Honorary Chaplain to His Holiness, and archivist for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles since 1962. He has written or edited miniature books for nearly all the top publishers of miniature books over several decades. He has also published many books under his own imprints, Junipero Serra Press and El Camino Real Press. Richard J. Hoffman (b.1932 - d.1989) was a prolific printer and teacher in Los Angeles, often working with Dawson's Book Shop as well as other small book shops to produce limited run publications. Illustrated yellow dust jacket pasted down on rep; fine. Stitch-bound pages are bright, a notation in pencil on the fep states this copy had been a gift of printer Richard J. Hoffman on Halloween of 1984, though it's unclear who it was gifted to; a fine copy 125 copies, printed by Richard J. Hoffman.
