Pages have been trimmed on all sides (perhaps to fit into a smaller piano bench or a smaller album) not affecting any content, notched and worn along the fold from once being bound within an album, heavy foxing and toning throughout, a small stain at the bottom of the front cover affecting the verso, and separating a bit at the ends of the fold, still a very good copy. For voice and piano. *OCLC* locates five holdings and it appears to be equally scarce in the trade.

A tape repair intersecting the music but it remains perfectly legible, a dampstain in the top left margin, and foxing, very good. For voice and piano. While there is no copyright date printed, the Library of Congress dates this publication to be around 1813. Bray's composition is just one of many that were set to this title and published around this time.

But this memorable work of Hamilton has been described as an excellent effort to reduce the Geography of Hindostan to a more systematic form than has yet been attempted in any prior publication. After the establishment of British Government, Hindostan was partitioned into certain large territorial divisions. This arrangement has been explained in the Introduction. The changed modified distribution of territories made it all the more necessary to write an authentic description of India. With this object Walter Hamilton wrote this work of distinction. For the first series the author selected Bengal, not only because it contains the modern metropolis and seat of the Supreme Government, but also on account of the superior importance of the materials from which its description is composed. The other provinces follow in succession according to contiguity.
