Spine has heavier tanning with soft fraying, splitting and crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

Binding overall tight and appears little read - minor crack to gutter at half-title, no annotations - 4 word gift inscription to half-title and remains of a postage (?) stamp to reverse of frontispiece; toning and slight spotting to page-ends and endpapers but text, illustrations and maps at endpapers bright and clear throughout.
