OBSCURE Covers survey of botanical exploration in Kansu; Principal [botanical] publications on Kansu ; Localities visited; Report of the expedition by R.C. Ching; systematic enumerat- ion of species. This is an important botanical work done by Walker, aide at the National Herbarium by Ching who was employed by the National Geographic Societies second exped- ition in central China under the direction of Dr. F. R. Wulsin. The collection consists of 1158 numbers presented to the National Museum, identified by Dr. Walker. Ching's expl- orations together with those of Reginald Farrer [1914-15] and Dr. Joseph F. Rock [1925-27] and others have added much to knowledge of Kansu province.
