No stated date but understood to be 1928. 216pp. This is a history of the part played by The Royal Scots Greys (The Second Dragoons) in the First World War, August 1914 to March 1919). It contains sections on Mobilization, Retreat from Mons, the Marne, the Aisne, Ypres, Neuve Chapelle, Loos, Arras, Raid at Guillemont Farm, Cambrai, Gouzeaucourt, German Offensive 1918, Amiens, crossing the Hindenburg Line, Pursuit to Mons etc. Appendices include - Casualties, Honours and Awards, Colonels-in-Chief and Colonels, Regimental Collect, Officers 1914-1919. The book is bound in the original grey cloth covered boards with a silver stamped Regimental emblem on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and light soiling on the boards and some brown staining on the top edge of the front board. There are a few other small brown spots on the boards and the spine ends are bumped. The contents are tight and clean. This copy is from the library of Dawyck Haig, 2nd Earl Haig, who has signed the front free endpaper 'Haig, 2nd Lieut. Royal Scots Greys, Rehovot, Palestine 1940.'.
