Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. Dust Jacket Included. 1st Edition. First edition thus. 4to, 356 pp. Orig. cloth with dust jacket. Fine copy in very good dust jacket with some tears at the top of the rear panel. A Hungarian edition of Vertés' book Amandes Vertes (i.e., Green Almonds, but also a pun on the artist's name), published in French in 1952. Attractive book with many sketches reproduced. A memoir of the artist's Paris years, basically between the two World Wars, when he was a leading portrayer of gai Paris. Afterword by Lazar Endre Bajomi, giving a chronology of Vertés' life. The afterword also reproduces some of Vertés' earlier Hungarian work, which was more political and expressionist.
