Likely assembled by a record store owner or employee in the Washington DC area, with many items addressed to the area and promoting local performances, with several items with annotations regarding orders on the versos written by Ralph Records' employees. And several Xerographically reproduced images and articles including: "The Complete Residents Handbook" (two copies, circa 1983), Lou Stathis' article "Muzick" on the Residents from the August 1980 issue of Heavy Metal magazine, and a collage of Ralph Record images around an October 25, 1984 Rolling Stone magazine article "A Guide To The Best Rock Videos," highlighting a review of "Ralph Records Video Volume 1." A copy of The Record Collector's Quartery, "Issue #10," 1983, which includes an article "Inside: The Residents" and a centerfold fold-out "The Residents 1984" calendar. Ralph Records and its graphic wing Pore-Know Graphics (Porno Graphics) was founded in 1972 to publish the work of the multi-media art collective The Residents. In the late 1970s Ralph Records began releasing other experimental and avante-garde musicians including those promoted on this poster. In 1976 The Residents formed The Cryptic Corporation to manage and represent the band and took over the day-to-day operations of Ralph Records. Ralph Records closed in 2010. 20.25 x 11 inches.
