In den WarenkorbZustand: Near Fine. First American Edition. First American edition, first printing of a noteworthy French abolitionist treatise. [1], x, 413 pp. Bound in publisher's fugitive purple wave-grain cloth, stamped in blind on front and rear boards and lettered in gilt on spine. Near Fine with sunning to spine and dulling to gilt lettering, light rubbing to extremities, and small stain to front board. Light foxing to endpapers, two small labels and consequent offsetting to front endpapers, chipping to four preliminary leaves resulting from printer's error (leaves are tipped in and protrude from textblock). "We were looking for so much from him that we forget he has left behind him a well-filled life.".…
