Light wear and slight soiling to the jacket spine ends and light creasing to the top edge of the front panel of the jacket of volume 1. Otherwise the jackets are in excellent condition. Joseph Conrad wrote to him that; 'You have a supreme faculty akin to genius.'. A N Wilson wrote; 'Scott Moncrieffs twelve sky-blue volumes.belong to that special category of translations which are themselves literary masterpieces.'
