Coauthor Sylvester J. Tinker would later serve as Chief of the Osage tribe from 1970 to 1982. (N.B. *OCLC* has one entry with two holdings that gives a date of "c1948" and notes that, while it is the same height, contains "13 leaves"; we are unsure if this is a clerical error or an extremely uncommon first edition.).
