Thorne illustrated over 40 animal books, mostly dog books. Her work is in the collection of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, including the etching 'Jazz!!'. The etchings in this portfolio are of Depression era themes, and include: I 'Jazz!!', with a black dancing minstrel with banjo; II 'The Critic', with a grande dame surveying an artist's work; III 'Schooldays', with two wealthy gentlemen toasting one another; IV 'The Breadline', with a hungry crowd of people including children; V 'Bigger an' Better', with a young banker at a banquet; VI 'Gentlemen of Leisure', with a hobo and his dog. Green cloth portfolio, title in black at white label, slt marked and cloth slt rippled. Internally, very clean. Each etching in 15 x 20" matte, protected by mylar, and signed by the artist at the lower right. This edition not on OCLC, but refer to OCLC 78698064.
