The object of the work was to describe fully and clearly the principle operations which have to be performed in order to insure success in the management of a garden.With the bookplate of Harry Sea of Bushey, dated July 1878, to the front pastedown.Loosely inserted is a handwritten Hertfordshire florist's order form, dated 1881 and covering 'accounts due midsummer & Xmas', billed by H. Lane & Son, Nurserymen, Seedsmen and Florists. Among the flowers purchased are lupins, godetias, and Sweet Sutton. In a half calf binding, with cloth covered boards. Lacking spine label. Significant rubbing to back strip head and tail, joints, and board perimeters. Rear joint head and tail starting, with board somewhat tender. Front joint starting, with board held weakly to the tail only. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned. Significant spotting to first and last few leaves, and pages surrounding plates. Good. book.
