Good, creased. // (3) "Peasants at the side of the road on the central plateau in Yemen, isolated mid-Eastern kingdom", two on donkeys, one on foot shading herself with an umbrella. 24x18cm. Wide World Photo, 22 Apr 1957. Good with closed tear. // (4) "Bedouin women water their flocks of goats at this oasis at Riyan in the British Protectorate of Aden", centred along an irrigation channel with traditional buildings in the distance. 23x18cm. Good with printed captions and ink stamps to the backs, crop marks to the front of (1), with touch up marks to the front of (2). They date to 1957-58, when Imam Yahya was drawing closer to Nasser's Egypt post-Suez…, and inciting tribes to revolt against the British resulting in the Aden Emergency. Taken during his first ever press conference, where he accused the British of staying on in Aden in the hope of discovering oil. // (2) AP Wirephoto 19 Feb 1957, 21x26cm.
