Botanik Naturwissenschaften Biologie Bibliographie der Flechten Biosystematics and Ecology Series Botanik Österreich Austria Mit der Bibliographie der Flechten und flechtenbewohnenden Pilze in Österreich" (TÜRK & POELT 1993) wurde zunächst der Versuch unternommen, in relativ kurzer Zeit eine Übersicht über die vorhandene und leicht greifbare Literatur sämtlicher ökologischer Gruppen der Flechten im Bundesgebiet von Österreich zu erarbeiten. ln diesem Basiswerk haben Angaben in floristischen Publikationen, Gebietsmonographien, Gattungs- und Familien-Monographien, Exsikkatenwerke aus der jüngeren Vergangenheit und (in seltenen Fällen auch) unpublizierte, in Herbarien dokumentierte Daten Berücksichtigung gefunden. ln der Zwischenzeit sind bis zum Stichtag 01. 06. 2008 462 weitere Publikationen als Quellen eruiert worden, die Verbreitungsdaten über Flechten in Österreich enthalten. In die vorliegende Bibliographie haben nun zusätzliche Verbreitungsangaben von Flechtentaxa aus Gebiets-, Gattungs- und Familienmonographien, die in vegetationskundlichen Arbeiten erwähnten Flechten, in Exsikkatenwerken verteilte Arten und Fundortangaben aus Publikationen physiologischen bzw. ökologischen Inhalts Eingang gefunden. Bei vielen Arten sind einige häufiger verwendete Synonyme vermerkt, die als Orientierungshilfe in der älteren Literatur dienen sollen. Die Anordnung der Zitate ist zunächst chronologisch. Um das Zitat leichter zu finden, wurden nach dem Doppelpunkt jeweils die Seiten angegeben. Mit dieser Zusatzinforrnation sollte es in der Regel möglich sein zu erkennen, welches Zitat gemeint ist, auch wenn ein Synonym verwendet worden sein sollte. Weitere wichtige Informationen beziehen sich auf die Angaben des Vorkommens der einzelnen Flechtenarten in den Bundesländern, auf die Hohenverbreitung und die Substrate. Announcement The "Bibliographie der Flechten und flechtenbewohnenden Pilze in Österreich" (TÜRK & POELT 1993) is an attempt to present an overview of the literature covering all ecological groups of lichens in Austria. This foundation compilation covers floristic publications, regional monographs of lichens, systematic monographs of genera and families and exsiccata. In additon, 462 published papers were reviewed and are the source for additional data on the distribution of lichens in Austria. The synonyms of many taxa are also given as an aid to interpreting the older literature. The references are in chronological order and given together with the page numbers on which they are cited. Further important information is given on the occurrence of the lichens in the various provinces of Austria, their altitudinal distribution and their substrates. Tracing the history of how humans have dealt with ordering the plant world is very much a glimpse of how human culture and science have progressed over the past 2000 years. The objective in this book is to present ideas on plant classification beginning with classical Greek and Roman scholars, through the Middle Ages, into the Renaissance, and finally to the modern 21st century. Significant quantitative methods in classification have originated within the past 70 years, which have never before been integrated with previous historical perspectives. Most textbooks of systematic botany contain an historical introduction or perhaps a chapter on the history of classification, but this book presents much greater detail on the classifications themselves and the cultural dimensions of the different time periods.
