Green cloth with white letters on the front cover and the spine and with a vignette in white on the front cover of a prairie scene with smoke arising from a tent (teepee?). Very minor wear to extremities with nothing rubbed through, top of spine just barely beginning to fray, white on spine somewhat eroded, cover white complete and bright, illustrations in fine condition, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. Born in Ontario, Canada in 1874, Arthur John Arbuthnott Stringer [1874-1950] was an American writer and Literary Editor of the magazine SUCCESS. He authored many novels and some poetry. For a time he tried wheat farming in Alberta, Canada. His two novels PRAIRIE MOTHER (1920) and PRAIRIE CHILD (1922) were literary products of this period.
