Solida legatura del tempo in mezza pelle, dorsi lisci con titoli e fregi in oro. Esemplare appartenente alla tiratura di testa elegantemente stampata in pochi esemplari su carta grande velina. Solo una gora chiara al margine delle prime carte del secondo volume, peraltro esemplare marginoso ed in ottimo stato di conservazione. Pregevole edizione, la più ricercata fra le "moderne" la cui traduzione si deve all'Ambrosoli. Cfr. Brunet (V, 556) che cita la presenza di esemplari in carta grande; Gamba, 1663 in nota. Book.

Si tratta della prima traduzione in lingua italiana della Geografia di Strabone; impresa editoriale che testimonia la crescita di interesse - che accompagnò l'intero XVI secolo - per ciò che riguardava la conoscenza geografica e antropologica del mondo.
