In den WarenkorbCloth. Zustand: Very Good Indeed. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. Harvey T. Dunn (illustrator). A charming selection of 20th century novels from popular authors such as American novelist Rex Beach and satirist Mary Dunn. A lovely set of four novels written in the first half of the 20th century, three of which centre on the lives, adventures, romances of female protagonists. The forth addition, 'The Silver Horde', revolves around one man's venture into salmon fishing in Alaska. With works from American authors Rex Beach and Grace Livingston Hill, who were both prolific and popular novelists of their time, as well as Mary Dunn's popular and entertaining Lady Addle character. Each with the publisher's original dust wrapper, all unclipped except for 'The World of Lady Addle'.Including the following titles:'The Silver Horde' (1911) by Rex Beach. The popular copyright edition. Undated, dated from Hathi Trust. With a frontispiece and three plates of illustrations by Harvey T. Dunn. With twenty pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear.'The Crooked Plough' (1926) by Thora Stowell. Second impression, published in the same month and year as the first. A very scarce novel that follows a girl's tumultuous journey to Egypt as governess to an Egyptian child.'White Orchids' (1935) by Grace Livingston Hill. Second impression. With six pages of advertisements to the rear. An absorbing romance about a beguiling girl who is charmed by a millionaire's son after he gives her orchids to wear.'The World of Lady Addle: Comprising the Memoirs of Mipsie and Lady Addle at Home' (1985) by Mary Dunn. With a frontispiece and seven plates. The Memoirs of Mipsie was originally published in 1947, and Lady Addle at Home was originally published in 1945.Collated, complete. In the original cloth bindings. With the publisher's original dust wrappers, all unclipped except for 'The World of Lady Addle'. Externally, 'White Orchids' and 'The World of Lady Addle' are excellent, with minor shelf wear and the odd mark to the boards. 'Silver Horde' and 'Crooked Plough' are very smart, with slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities and damp stains to the boards of 'Plough'. Dust wrappers are very smart, with edge wear and light chipping to the wraps of 'Silver Horde' and 'Crooked Plough'. Spotting and marks to the extremities of 'Crooked Plough', heaviest to the spine. 'World of Lady Addle' and 'White Orchids' dust wrappers are excellent, with minimal edge wear. Internally, firmly bound, with generally bright and clean pages. With contemporary ink inscriptions to the front free endpaper of 'World of Lady Addle' and 'White Orchids'. Very Good Indeed. book.
