Spine, raised bands, gilt titles and tooling. Internally, new marbled endpapers, frontis, [4], [1], 2-959 pp, [11] index, [16] adverts, 1 map, 29 pls (dated 1810-1814), not dated but c1815. (Anderson 339 for earlier). Title continues: Containing an Account of Its Towns, Cathedrals, Castles, Churches, Monuments, Antiquities, Public Edifices, Picturesque Scenery, The Residences of the Nobility, Gentry, Etc. Accompanied with Biographical notices of eminent and learned men to whom this country has given birth. Illustrated with twenty nine engravings and a map. (This is part of the work called 'The Beauties of England and Wales' which is a 25 volume saga!) Evans, schoolmaster, topographer was the author of A Tour through Part of North Wales (1800) and Letters Written during a Tour through South Wales (1804).
