In den WarenkorbThis New York journalist grabbed attention with his coverage of U.S. Grant's final illness and death at Mt. McGregor in 1885, and later became part owner and editor of "The New York Evening Mail"; he authored such political titles as "As I Knew Them: Presidents and Politics from Grant to Coolidge" (1927), "It Costs to Be President" (1938), "Horace Greeley: Printer, Editor, Crusader" (1946) and "Presidential Sweepstakes: The Story of Political Conventions and Campaigns" (1948). With a second slip from the same letter, irreular 4 3/4" X 1", with printed "Graphic Publishing Co. / 39-41 Park Place" (and partial penned word "Editorial") and on verso a boldly penned "2" and "ndness & in the hope that." Interesting if cryptic pair, undated but from ink and New York letterhead likely 1890s. …
