This is a small but comprehensive introduction to coarse fishing. This was my first angling book, with a Spratt's angling kit in my Christmas stocking when I was about eight years old. It came with a whole-cane rod, tin reel and a cloth bag of ground-bait. Look where that led me! .

All of the pages are intact and the cover is intact and the spine may show signs of wear. The book may have minor markings which are not specifically mentioned. A good condition vintage booklet. A slightly later dated fourth edition. The covers are lightly creased. The textblock is bright and well-kept for it's age.

Also lots of adverts. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.

On Verso: (Top half) Form of Entry for the First Annual Exhibition of the New York Poultry Exchange, Held in Madison Square Garden, New York City, December 14-211887." With entry fees. Rare. Not in OCLC. Cornell has a copy of "Premium list and regulations governing the first annual exhibition of the New York Poultry Exchange : to be held at Madison Square Garden, New York, Dec. 14-21, 1887" but without any entry forms. Very good, light edge wear and soiling.

Soft cover. Zustand: Good. Undated, but opening page states that Spratt's have over 70 years' experience, the company was founded in 1860, which would make this catalogue circa 1930s. A 44 page well illustrated trade catalogue listing their range of Dog Collars, Dog leads, Muzzles, Kennels, Beds, grooming equipment and tools, Rabbit Hutches, Dog Coats, Feeding Bowls, etc. The catalogue measures 11 inches tall, with a loosely inserted trade price list. Covers are noticeably darkened, with some marking, internally creased page corners throughout with some marking, else in good general condition.
