The covers are in very good condition, the plastic is intact and complete and the contents are tight and clean. A nice copy . ; Many of the illustrations are from Peter Spier's book, "The Erie Canal" with his permission. The color illustration on the front cover is also by him. The other illustrations are from postcards, maps and photos. Profusely illustrated. Bright dust jacket surface rubbed spine edge with a few small chips along edges and a short closed edge tear top front panel. Rubbing to spine has effaced some of the printed titling. No mention of Caldecott medal on DJ. Front flap price clipped. Sound clean copy with some wear to DJ. Author signed. VG-/G++; Signed by Author.
