He was intensely interested in solving automobile fatalities. Surprise, Surprise, he served in the Transportation section for the War Department as a Lt. Colonel. Post-war he also served as President of the Automobile Manufacturer's Association. Sloan, of course, graduated from M.I.T. before starting as an obscure draftsman for General Motors long before he became the President, CEO, and Chairman of GM. Illustrated.
