First thus edition / sixth edition hard back binding in publisher's original grey cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the spine, black lettering to the front cover. 8vo. 7½'' x 5¼''. Contains [xlvii] 212 printed pages of text with 7 monochrome illustrations. First 1902 edition with 42 page introduction by Sir Herbert Maxwell. Damp stain to the edges of the boards, page edges tanned and in Good condition. Member of the P.B.F.A. HUNTS & GAME SHOOTING.

Zustand: Good. Original colour lithograph. 40 x 27 cm (15.75 x 10.6 inches). Very Good. Minor toning and crease in left margin, not affecting image. Lithograph laid-in within four pages from issue dated 25 Jan 1900, including letterpress biography of subject. Vincent Brooks, Day & Son (Lith.). Scarce.

Similar to OCLC: 468970080; both 1828, but no longer mentions Thomas Baker Wait or Luther Stevens, and adds the notation "New York Published also by the General Protestant Episcopal Sunday School Union".
