The careful balance of mass production and use of sustainable practices need to be better understood and promoted to feed the ever expanding population. Biopesticides have made some impact during last few decades but there is still a lot that can be done to promote the adoption of the environmentally friendly and yield enhancing crop inputs. Main strategies should involve biopesticides with low/no residue brand, supportive legislation as an incentive to research and development, promote the benefits of biopesticide use, draw the correlation between sustainability and biopesticides. The endeavour in this book has been in this direction, specifically to correlate the biopesticide concept in sustainable agriculture based on various economically important crops. This book emphasizes the role of various biopesticides in the protection of various crops like rice, maize, pulses, oilseeds, cotton, sugarcane, vegetables, fruits, tobacco, spice crops, tuber crops, coconut, tea, forest plantations and stored products. There has definitely been progress but several constraints like variable performance under field conditions, maintenance of quality standards, regulatory procedures and less interest by big industrial houses need to be addressed.
