In contrast to many books by good authors, this book takes a departure and focuses on two aspects like "Practical" and "Using R " as depicted in its tile, "Practical Design and Analysis of Experiments in Statistics Using R". That is, the author has tried to focus more on the practical computation and graphic presentation of the layouts of the designs of experiments followed by practical computation of complex analyses of variances of various designs, involving fixed, random and mixed linear models using R codes. There are so many books on R. But, mostly deal with the grammar of R language. The subject 'Statistics' as such still needs example based books containing development of the subject matter along with live running codes of R, which a normal user initially finds difficult to frame. From the perspective of filling the same gap in this book "Practical Design and Analysis of Experiments in Statistics Using R" the author is presenting it to the students and professors of statistics and applied statistics, agricultural scientists and applied scientists, who use designs of experiments for analyzing their data. Many examples have been taken from the fields of agriculture, biology, medical and social science. Neuware -Pseudomonas aeruginosa MTCC 7925, a sludge isolate, was found to accumulate a novel short-chain-length-long-chain-length (SCL-LCL) co-polymer composed of 3-hydroxybutyric acid (3HB), 3-hydroxyvaleric acid (3HV), 3-hydroxyhexadecanoic acid (3HHD) and 3-hydroxyoctadecanoic acid (3HOD) as components.The co-polymer production was enhanced to 49% on dry cell weight (dcw) under 2% ethanol-supplemented condition. A further, increase up to 78% (dcw) was observed by optimizing the critical parameters through Response Surface Methodology. When palm oil as well as its cakes were exploited as carbon sources, yield of 5.9 g/l was recorded that was almost 85-fold higher over control. The material properties of the polymer are comparable with polypropylene and polyethylene. Furthermore, synthesis of this co-polymer from ordinary unrelated carbon sources like ethanol, glucose, acetate and various plant oils like palm oil with its cakes under the same growth conditions under which other Pseudomonads including P. aeruginosa synthesize MCL-PHAs units only, opens up new possibilities of exploiting P. aeruginosa MTCC 7925 in the production of co-polymer for various industrial application.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 148 pp. Englisch.

The proteins have also been shown to have some influence on plants raised under in vitro conditions. A new line was involved testing these phytoproteins for their antineoplastic property and antiviral property against animal viruses. Study was done in three lines. 1. Induction of antiviral resistance in crops such as okra, tomato, brinjal, chilli, cowpea/lobia, mungbean and papaya which are commonly susceptible to a number of virus infections. 2. Enhancement of growth of in vitro-raised plants of lime, guar and sunnhemp by adding phytoproteins from Boerhaavia diffusa and Clerodendrum aculeatum into the culture medium as well as in ex vitro conditions. 3.
