Don Pflueger's fine book, Glendora, written in 1951, had long been out of print. Much had happened to the city since that time. The three year task of assembling materials and preparing the manuscript has been a rewarding experience. Much of the research was done in the Glendora City Library, and the assistance of all the librarians there has been most helpful. The Friends of the Glendora Library provided financial assistance for a portion of the expense of the manuscript. Azusa Pacific University and Friends of the Special Collections of Azusa Pacific provided needed funds for publication." [from the Acknowledgements] Sheldon Jackson, Ph. D. USC, was professor of history in Azusa Pacific University and also the author of A British Ranchero in Old California. Jackson's book brings the history of Glendora up the year 1982.
