In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: New. This Publication is a conversion of a project report of 1997 into a book form. Therefore I had to elevate two of my then assistants as my co-authors due to their valuable contributions. In fact they are the actual workers I am only a compiler of data and the writer. This has biographies of Six tanks from Tamilnadu and Pondicherry. Some of these are non-system type and all vary from each other in many characteristics. For each water body we collected data on water, soil, plants and animals, and peoples' perceptions. From these, inferences are drawn. Suggestions for management to restore and improve these ecosystems are made. This work is relevant to about 200, 000 similar waterbodies in the semi-arid regions of India spread in Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamilnadu.

The book entitled "Documentary of Agaricomycetous Mushrooms of India" provides updated compilation of basic data and information on 1920 mushroom taxa belonging to 207 genera spread over 35 families and 3 orders of fleshy fungi published till date from India. The broad classification adopted for compilation of this treatise is largely based on the latest version of the Dictionary of Fungi authored by Kirk et al. (2008). In this documentary the Orders, Families, Genera and Species are arranged in alphabetic order under respective taxonomic category. For a particular taxon, the name of the class, order, family, respective authority and citation has been given as per authentic information available in the MycoBank and Index Fungorum. For every species and variety listed under respective genus, the exact information about the state of its occurrence and the documenting author has been provided. At the end of the documentary the references, which appeared in the main body of the manuscript are listed in an alphabetical order. This data base is likely to set the tone for more explorative work and will provide a significant base line. The gilled and poroid mushrooms embrace diverse and fascinating arrays of fleshy fungi. They are of great interest because of their relevance in nutritional and neutraceutical aspects, mycorrhizal association with plants, and as saprophytes and parasites. This book will be of interest to diverse group of users and we understand clearly that there may have been some inadvertent omissions in our compilation.
