The present bibliographical work is in response to this new demand as well as to help the first time academic researchers on Dhaka. It is the work of two years of research and field work as well as hunting of many libraries, archives, record rooms and other institutions throughout the world. The search has shown that the numbers of works on Dhaka are many and archival materials huge. Since research based books on Dhaka are few, there is a scope for further studies on the capital Dhaka.
