Good to very good overall for a fragile photoplay edition. The pictorial wrappers remain bright, with vivid red, blue, and purple tones, though the surface shows moderate rubbing, light creasing, and edge wear including a few small splits at the corners and along the spine folds. The spine is gently cocked with several shallow stress lines but retains full integrity and legible titling. The rear cover's blue-toned film stills remain clear and appealing, with only light rubbing and faint soil. Internally, the binding is firm though slightly shaken at a few gatherings. Pages are evenly toned to tan, typical of 1920s pulp paper, but clean and unmarked except for a neat ink ownership signature ("Roger C. Smith") on the front free endpaper. Overall, a solid, unrestored example with strong visual appeal and complete text block?scarce in this condition given the fragility of the original stock. Octavo (approx. 7.5 × 5 in.), color pictorial wrappers, 187 pp. A photoplay edition issued to accompany the Warner Bros. silent feature film of the same title starring Patsy Ruth Miller, co-written by screenwriters Raymond L. Schrock and Edward Clark. The rear cover reproduces six tinted stills from the motion picture; the text novelizes the screenplay, a melodrama centering on the struggles of an ambitious young actress and her mother in early Hollywood. One of a small group of Warner Bros. "Classics of the Screen" promotional photoplay books distributed through the Popular Plays and Screen Library series?now uncommon survivors of the 1920s film-novel tie-in market.
