Rather rare first edition. - Reginald Charles Francis Schomberg (1880-195…8) was a British officer and explorer, who served mainly in Asia. His military career took him to India (1902-11), he served in the Malay states guides (early 1910s), he went to Mesopotamia (1915) and Palestine (1917), Malaya (1919), India (1922), and Ladakh (1923). He retired from the army in 1927. This book describes the author's journeys in 1927-1929 & 1930-1931 through Chinese Turkestan, visiting Khotan, Kashgar, etc. After these trips he started a diplomatic career in Asia.
