Nel 1958 viene invitato a esporre per la prima volta a Bologna da Maurizio Calvesi; successivamente insieme ad Afro, Basaldella, Lucio Fontana e Cesare Gnudi, verrà invitato dallo stesso Calvesi alla Biennale di Venezia del 1964, quella ?scandalosa? resa celebre dallo sbarco in Europa dei ragazzacci della Pop Art. Dagli anni Cinquanta fino agli anni Ottanta insegna pittura nell'atelier dell'Ospedale psichiatrico ?Luigi Lolli? di Imola, istituto fondato a fine Settecento e chiuso definitivamente solo nel 1996. Tale esperienza è determinante per leggere il percorso di Germano Sartelli, che da questa esperienza prenderà molti spunti (da Flash Art, n. 317, luglio-settembre 2014). Book.
