Softcover. Zustand: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 24 x 29 cm, 160 pages, 140 color illustrations - This first retrospective monograph of American artist Sam Falls spans his work from his beginnings in the 2010s to his most recent exhibitions. Following the traditions of Minimalism and Land art, while pursuing a path toward abstraction, his oeuvre has undoubtedly been influenced by nature and the Los Angeles environment in which he lives. His photographs, paintings, public installations, and sculptures display a certain poetry and a rare immediacy. Previously a student of physics, linguistics, and aesthetics, he has long pursued a particular interest in the way in which natural phenomenon such as light, rain, and wind might impact his abstract paintings and sculptures.

Zustand: Gut. 87 S.; Illustrationen; 28 cm; kart. Gutes Ex. - Englisch. - (Auflage 800); Edited by Gea Politi. // Interview Sam Falls mit Nicolas Trembley. - What was the inspiration for this project? What was the starting point? - I had the idea because I was already working outside, making long-term sun prints on fabric in California, leaving objects that were referential to the place the work was being made on top of a textile that suited the subject matter. It usually took eight months to a year to make an image of the object by I he sun fading the fabric around the object - natural, long-term photograms essentially. A good example of this is when we lived in Highland Park in East Los Angeles. I collected tires discarded on the streets around the area and left them on pre-dyed polyester - a synthetic substrate to match the rubber subject. Then we moved to Topanga Canyon where we lived on a dirt road in a more natural environment, and our neighbors said Ihey were getting rid of their record collection. I took three boxes, about one hundred of their records, and selected the most naturalist symphonies - Vivaldi's The Four Seasons being the best example - and used them as my new subject matter. I took the records i nit of the sleeves and placed both the vinyl LP and its case on the fabric. . ISBN 9788878161740 Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 750.
