Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This text is an enhanced, English version of the Russian edition, published in early 2021 and is appropriate for an introductory course in geometric control theory. The concise presentation provides an accessible treatment of the subject for advanced undergraduate and graduate students in theoretical and applied mathematics, as well as to experts in classic control theory for whom geometric methods may be introduced. Theory is accompanied by characteristic examples such as stopping a train, motion of mobile robot, Euler elasticae, Dido's problem, and rolling of the sphere on the plane. Quick foundations to some recent topics of interest like control on Lie groups and sub-Riemannian geometry are included. Prerequisites include only a basic knowledge of calculus, linear algebra, and ODEs; preliminary knowledge of control theory is not assumed. The applications problems-oriented approach discusses core subjects and encourages the reader to solve related challenges independently. Highly-motivated readers can acquire working knowledge of geometric control techniques and progress to studying control problems and more comprehensive books on their own. Selected sections provide exercises to assist in deeper understanding of the material.Controllability and optimal control problems are considered for nonlinear nonholonomic systems on smooth manifolds, in particular, on Lie groups. For the controllability problem, the following questions are considered: controllability of linear systems, local controllability of nonlinear systems, Nagano-Sussmann Orbit theorem, Rashevskii-Chow theorem, Krener's theorem. For the optimal control problem, Filippov's theorem is stated, invariant formulation of Pontryagin maximum principle on manifolds is given, second-order optimality conditions are discussed, and the sub-Riemannian problem is studied in detail. Pontryagin maximum principle is proved for sub-Riemannian problems, solution to the sub-Riemannian problems on the Heisenberggroup, the group of motions of the plane, and the Engel group is described.

Broschiert. Zustand: Wie neu. 694 S. Over 25 years ago the project of collaborative work devotedto the present stage of butterfly and moth fauna of Saratov,Ulyanovsk and Samara districts and adjoining territoriesof the Volga region, such as the vast collected materialon which demanded the compilation and publishing was discussedby us - three friends and colleagues - Vasily Anikin,Sergey Sachkov and Vadim Zolotuhin, who becamethe authors of the present edition. As result the conclusionwas drawn by us, that it is effective to use as a comparativebase well known writing work of E. Eversmann Fauna lepidopterologicaVolgo-Uralensis also taking into considerationthat its sesquicentennial jubilee has come.Necessity of summarizing on this, as it looked to us, thebest investigated group was motivated by the number of circumstances:on one side, the popularityâ of butterflies (asmembers of our first part of the cycle), which from the collectorspoint of view takes an important sufficiently reasonedrole to complete the species list of Middle Volga region atthat moment, and on another side, the need in combinationof odd bits of information and their faunistic and taxonomicrevision. Moreover, all available significant works atthat time were devoted to the vast regions, with only a littleconcerning mostly interest layer of the Volga region entomofauna, which is frontier between Europe and Asia, or hopelessdepreciated both taxonomic and quantitative. Wingedby an idea of the creation sufficiently large work we havestarted to undertake a task energetically, however we hadsoon stumbled upon the serious nomenclatural and someother problems as well as extreme inequality of the territorialinvestigation. All this demanded the additional effortsand investigations, searching of a little known and hard toaccess literature, appealing to fundamental, mainly Russian, collections and so on. In the course of expeditionary workthe additional material was collected also on other groupsof Lepidoptera, that let us to extend the range of interestsand, based on the fundamental writing of E. Eversmann, tohitâ the entire order Lepidoptera and to extend geographicallythe region additionally including into the area of interestsalso Astrakhan and Volgograd Areas and also Bashkiriaand North-Western Kazakhstan in order to maximallywalk up to the geographical outlines of the region, whichwas investigated by this outstanding naturalist of the 19thcentury in the whole. For widening of interest toward entire order of Lepidoptera, the series of lepidopterological hand-books of Europeanpart of the USSR published up to this time were alsofavored, and these series initiated the natural increase of interestto the regional faunistic investigations letting determinationof the collected material with high degree of reliability, especially among so named Microlepidoptera identification, that earlier created the formidable difficulties. The structure of the work we decided to offer in the tableform not only with a view to economy of place, but also forreaders convenience for searching of needful information.Order of taxa and nomenclatural decision are based on theavailable up to that time and mostly accepted in the professionalsphere sources of literature and systems of differentgroups having worked out by Russian and foreign specialists.Into the information block we decided to include dataon the imago phenology, preferential biotopes and also larvalfeeding preferences, among of them the special emphasiswas placed on the original data. The distribution in theregion is showed by marks in columns imaging the subjectsof administration division of territory for what the standardmarks of presence/absence and also marking of the type localityand so on. This cycle has been published up till nowduring almost 20 years also according to accumulation of dataon each group up to understanding by the authors of decisivecompleteness of information, therefore the order of eachpart published had no systematic dependence. ****** mediafritze® | wir können günstig! | Schneller Versand! ****** mediafritze® | we can do cheap! | Fast shipping! | Best quality, hand checked! | Our products have no adhesive labels! | You always get what you see on our photos! | Your invoice, with current VAT, will be provided to you immediately after successful checkout! Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This 1997 work explores the role of probabilistic methods for solving combinatorial problems. These methods not only provide the means of efficiently using such notions as characteristic and generating functions, the moment method and so on but also let us use the powerful technique of limit theorems. The basic objects under investigation are nonnegative matrices, partitions and mappings of finite sets, with special emphasis on permutations and graphs, and equivalence classes specified on sequences of finite length consisting of elements of partially ordered sets; these specify the probabilistic setting of Sachkov's general combinatorial scheme. The author pays special attention to using probabilistic methods to obtain asymptotic formulae that are difficult to derive using combinatorial methods. This was an important book, describing many ideas not previously available in English; the author has taken the chance to rewrite parts of the text and refresh the references where appropriate.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Originally published in 1996, this is a presentation of some complex problems of discrete mathematics in a simple and unified form using an original, general combinatorial scheme. The author's aim is not always to present the most general results, but rather to focus attention on ones that illustrate the methods described. A distinctive aspect of the book is the large number of asymptotic formulae derived. Professor Sachkov begins with a discussion of block designs and Latin squares before proceeding to treat transversals, devoting much attention to enumerative problems. The main role in these problems is played by generating functions, which are considered in Chapter 3. The general combinatorial scheme is then introduced and in the last chapter Polya's enumerative theory is discussed. This is an important book, describing many ideas not previously available in English; the author has taken the chance to update the text and references where appropriate.

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware -This book presents some facts and methods of the Mathematical Control Theory treated from the geometric point of view. The book is mainly based on graduate courses given by the first coauthor in the years 2000-2001 at the International School for Advanced Studies, Trieste, Italy. Mathematical prerequisites are reduced to standard courses of Analysis and Linear Algebra plus some basic Real and Functional Analysis. No preliminary knowledge of Control Theory or Differential Geometry is required. What this book is about The classical deterministic physical world is described by smooth dynamical systems: the future in such a system is com pletely determined by the initial conditions. Moreover, the near future changes smoothly with the initial data. If we leave room for 'free will' in this fatalistic world, then we come to control systems. We do so by allowing certain param eters of the dynamical system to change freely at every instant of time. That is what we routinely do in real life with our body, car, cooker, as well as with aircraft, technological processes etc. We try to control all these dynamical systems! Smooth dynamical systems are governed by differential equations. In this book we deal only with finite dimensional systems: they are governed by ordi nary differential equations on finite dimensional smooth manifolds. A control system for us is thus a family of ordinary differential equations. The family is parametrized by control parameters.Springer Verlag GmbH, Tiergartenstr. 17, 69121 Heidelberg 432 pp. Englisch.
