In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Very Good. 8vo (25 cm), C, 530, [2] pp. Publisher's grey-beige cloth, blind-stamped with the Institute's emblem to the front board, spine lettered in blue (binding slightly dusted). Seventh volume of the Archive series of the planned 25-volume complete edition of the writings, archive and studies of the Ukrainian historian and political thinker Viacheslav Lypynsky (1882-1931), edited by Eugene Zyblikewycz and Vasyl Rudko, with art and graphic design by Hnizdovsky. It contains the letters of Osyp Nazaruk (1883-1940) to Lypynsky. Nazaruk was a Galician journalist, Minister for Press and Information in the governments of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic, and later editor in Canada, Chicago, Philadelphia and Lviv (Sichovi Visti, Ameryka, Nova Zoria). The correspondence (147 letters, with 30 surviving letters of Lypynsky to Nazaruk used in the introduction) documents the friendship, collaboration and bitter break of 1928 between the two men, and gives a vivid and often caustic picture of Ukrainian life in Canada and the United States in the 1920s and of the Ukrainian monarchist movementmovement. It is prefaced by an English-language Editor's Note by Ivan L. Rudnytsky and a long introductory essay in Ukrainian by the editor, "Nazaruk and Lypynsky: the history of their friendship and conflict". Text in Ukrainian. A basic source for the history of the Ukrainian emigration in North America, the Hetmanite movement and Ukrainian political thought of the inter-war period. …
