Hardcover. Zustand: Fair. First edition. First of this Danish translation with commentary and apologie by A. G. Rudelbach. ASKB 386. This book (not this copy) was in Kierkegaard's library. Black linen spine, with ill-fitting marbled boards, paper label, which is worn and illegible, possibly in ink. Spine is chipped and worn and appears to be cracked but the text is not compromised. No endpapers. Rear hinge is cracked but sound. Text is good. Rudelbach is named in the histories of the Confession, as one of its critical defenders against the advocacy of rationalism and supranaturalism. To advance renewal of Lutheranism in the Danish Church Rudelbach created a Danish translation of the Augsburg Confession, with apology and the history of the Augsburg Confession, from Phillipp Melanchton in 1530. The second part of the work (pp. 115-386) is the translation of Melanchton's work int Danish. Through his lectures at the university, Rudelbach influenced the young Hans Lassen Martensen.
