Quarto. 9'' x 7''. In 1956-1957 Ruban took part in a trip to the Antarctica. The sketches made during the voyage at the Mirny, Pionerskaya, Vostok stations and the motor ship Kooperatsia were later included as illustrations in this book 'Without Dark Glasses'. He painted seventeen paintings based on sketches collected during his travels and trips to the classrooms of the Faculty of Geography of the main building of Moscow State University. At the Arctic and Antarctic Museum, many of the themes of the exhibition are solved through his paintings painted especially for the museum. He devoted more than forty years to the theme of the Pole and created an artistic chronicle of the development of the Russian Arctic and Antarctic countries. Ruban dedicated a number of his works to well-known scholars of the past - Semyon Cheluskin, Georgy Sedov, Vladimir Voronin and others. His personal exhibitions were held from 1935 in Moscow, Leningrad, Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk and other cities.
