Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Overcoming Inventoritis, a largely psychological disorder, is important to anyone involved in the innovation process interested in obtaining better returns from resources applied to innovation. Innovation through researching, developing or inventing new or improved products and bringing them to market effectively is a perilous process with the odds of success worse than those faced by a typical blackjack player. Those who need their invention or product to become a commercial success should follow the lead of Thomas Edison, the World¿s Greatest Product Marketer who maintained a healthy perspective, built an empire from his ideas, lived long and prospered. Be wary of taking a lead from the great scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla who unfortunately suffered from inventoritis and died lonely and broke.pPeople with untreated inventoritis have an amazing ability to disrupt sound marketing processes, often impacting their career opportunities and any chance of venture success. People and companies that effectively deal with inventoritis greatly improve the odds of enjoying a positive financial experience from their efforts. Learn how to identify, manage and overcome the debilitating inventoritis condition and become an effective product marketer in the process.pSteve Wozniak, Inventor of the personal computer and co-founder of Apple says that 'As a tinkerer and inventor my whole life, this book addresses a topic that is near and dear to my heart. At Apple, Steve and I were successful because we followed the path outlined by Peter and Tats in this book and didn't fall prey, at least not too often, to inventoritis. I've learned over time that getting inventions to the marketplace is at least as important as the product itself. It was much harder to get people to accept the concept of a computer into their homes and lives than to design it. Too many inventors fall prey to the 'field of dreams' syndrome. This book will drill home the importance of getting your product to market. It's a must read for any inventor.'.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - In May 2002 a number of about 20 scientists from various disciplines were invited by the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities to participate in an interdisciplinary workshop on structures and structure generating processes. The site was the beautiful little castle of Blankensee, south of Berlin. The disciplines represented ranged from mathematics and information theory, over various elds of engineering, biochemistry and biology, to the economic and social sciences. All participants presented talks explaining the nature of structures considered in their elds and the associated procedures of analysis. It soon became evident that the study of structures is indeed a common c- cern of virtually all disciplines. The motivation as well as the methods of analysis, however, differ considerably. In engineering, the generation of artifacts, such as infrastructures or technological processes, are of primary interest. Frequently, the analysis aims there at de ning a simpli ed mathematical model for the optimization of the structures and the structure generating processes. Mathematical or heuristic methods are applied, the latter preferably of the type of biology based evolutionary algorithms. On the other hand, setting up complex technical structures is not pos- ble by such simpli ed model calculations but requires a different and less model but rather knowledge-based type of approach, using empirical rules rather than formal equations. In biochemistry, interest is frequently focussed on the structures of molecules, such as proteins or ribonucleic acids. Again, optimal structures can usually be de ned.

Paperback, vi + 560 pages, Size:156 x 234 mm, Illustrations:3 b/w, 7 col., Languages: English, French, Spanish. ISBN 9782503583549. Summary Nineteen scholars join forces to pay tribute to one of the leading scholars in Byzantine studies, Father Joseph A. Munitiz. As one of the founders of the Series Graeca of the Corpus Christianorum and because of his own exemplary work, Joe Munitiz had and has a lasting impact on the development of Byzantine studies. There is no better way to honour him and his work than to offer him a Festschrift with contributions that mimic his quality, passion, and curiosity. The Festschrift contains several "firsts": the first English translation of Eustathius' Letter concerning the Two Natures against Severus, and the first critical editions (and studies) of an anonymous iambic canon on St John Chrysostom, of letter Z of the Etymologicum Symeonis, of some additions to letter A in the Florilegium Coislinianum, of a possible credo of Metrophanes of Smyrna, of a letter by Nicholas Pepagomenos to Gregory Palamas, and of Maximus Confessor's Tomos to Stephen of Dor against the Ekthesis. The innovative studies in this volume deal with the Slavonic and Greek catenae on the Song of Songs, with Athanasius' Letter to Marcelinus, with an ascetic miscellany in a thirteenth-century Atheniensis, with the so-called 'First Chapter Titles' in the second recension of the Florilegium Coislinianum, with the date of composition of the Maximian Corpus, with Raimundus Lullus' knowledge of Byzantium, with the reception of the Catalogue of Inventors in Gregory of Nazianzus' fourth oratio, and with Titus of Bostra's polemic against the Manicheans.
