Collection of three very rare complete series of attractive topographical etchings by the famous Dutch painter and etcher Roeland Roghman (1627-1692). Roghman was born in Amsterdam, in a family of artists, and is primarily known for his etchings of land- and cityscapes, which were published in series of eight. Three of them have been included here, namely the series that Hollstein named Eight landscapes with views in the provinces of Holland and Utrecht, and the two different series named Eight landscapes with views in various provinces. The etchings are present in various states. Complete series are very rare on the market, as most listings only include single prints.With inserted manuscript collations by the famous Dutch antiquarian Max Elte, mentioning this set is a duplicate of the copy of The Albertina Museum in Vienna, and a photograph of a Dutch landscape painting. The boards and spine have been rubbed, the edges and corners of the boards are slightly scuffed, the boards are warped.
