No date of publication, circa 1910. A personal account of a journey in Jordan , Lebanon and Syria. The author resided for six years in Jerusalem working as a missionary with the Jews. He was sent by the Society of Promoting Christian Knowledge among the Jews based in England. Lees was a known photographer at the end of 19th century in the Holy Land. He photographed many cites in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan. Part of his original photographs are kept at the Royal Geographical Society in London. #12927.

Pages and plates are moderately tanned with minimal foxing throughout. All edges gilt. Cracking to gutters of a few pages with exposed binding. Binding loosening. Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Crushing to spine ends with small splits and fraying to cloth. All three edges are brightly gilted, page sections are uneven due to loosening of spine. Frontispiece is a colour plate of "The ferry over the River Jordan", protected by a tissue guard, but separating from spine.
